Meet the Guys Behind Rehoboth Roots
Matthew and Justin bonded over their love of cannabis and their mutual fiery entrepreneur spirit. Rehoboth Roots was founded on one main principal: help other people.
Cannabis was a transforming factor in how each manages their stress and hectic lives and what first started out as an effort to help their immediate community, turned into the company that we have today; one that reaches people as far as all over the US.
JUSTIN
Justin Castro is a father of three, a proud veteran, and the poster child for the phrase: “Do it yourself.” Shortly after he started using cannabis for the first time almost two decades ago, he began practicing how to grow it on his own and now he’s a skilled grower with over a decade’s worth of experience under his belt.
Along with cannabis, Justin also cultivates his own meat! He has a humble farm behind his Rehoboth home with almost 20 livestock animals including pigs, goats, chickens and two enormous dogs.
One of Justin’s driving forces behind starting Rehoboth Roots was to lower the stigma that followed cannabis everywhere like a dark cloud. He started using cannabis to help with his panic attacks and it did wonders for his mental state. His family and friends weren’t convinced and had many questions. They had doubts and suspicions wondering if cannabis could significantly improve one’s quality of life.
And so when Justin started Rehoboth Roots with Matthew, he made it one of the company’s missions to answer every question received in efforts to reduce the stigma associated with cannabis.
MATTHEW
Matthew is a man of many talents. He is a professional pastry chef that has worked for some of the most renowned chefs in the industry including Daniel Boulud, Eric Ziebold and Masaharu Mormimoto to name a few. Matthew had also been invited on Top Chef Just Desserts in 2011! He was a finalist on the show and took home the title of Fan Favorite!
Although Matthew’s career spanned every major city on the East Coast, Rehoboth, Massachusetts is the city he’s been calling home for the past six years. Besides pastry cheffing along the Eastern Seaboard, Matthew has had a personal and professional interest in cannabis. Although he and Justin bonded over this very thing, they decided to become business partners when they found they were each primarily interested in helping others.
For the past five years Matthew has been working on becoming an expert CBD vendor. He’s been working in the legal cannabis industry in Massachusetts and spends every minute learning as much as he can. He became driven by his passion to provide for his family and community and together, he and Justin could not be more proud of the products they produce for you.
Rehoboth Roots is founded on the principle of helping others, as well as being as transparent as possible and reducing the stigma that comes with using cannabis. Our tagline, go back to your roots, calls for going back to the basics of healing. We believe wellness can be reclaimed by turning to things like wholesome food and natural ingredients.
